How can i help BarCamp:

You can help us getting sponsors. You can be a volunteer and the least you can do is spread the word BarCamp Delhi so that our community gets stronger with lotsa enthusiasm and creative ideas. Contribute by giving some talks on some of the current topics related to technology, IT, finance, entrepreneurship etc

Why do i help BarCamp:

Helping barcamp is helping yourself as well. Barcamp delhi is a community consisting of many individuals and companies relating to Media, IT, technology. People who make trends and are part of it are associated with this company. So your brand and you yourself as an individual get exposed to the niche part of the society. Barcamp is covered by various magazines, blogs, internet TV channels, twitter etc. which helps you reach to wider audience base.

Whom do i contact, how much do you charge, is there any memebership fee ?

All good things in this world doesn’t come free, but yeah this one is for free you can participate for free. You can present yourself as an individual or a company who has an idea or plan. But if you want to publicize then you will have to sponsor the camp. Because this is the only source for us to make this happen. The fooding , posters, print material, goodies are done by the sponsors. We as a community do not keep any profit and the bills are paid directly by the sponsoring companies

Its good to start 2009 with lots of events coming in a queue. We have proto coming in two days ( January 23, 24 ’09 , Bangalore) and then we have OSScamp in pantnagar on jan 21-feb 1, 2009 and not to forget the Delhi blogger’s meet which was there last weekend. But barcamp has always its own enthusiasm and cheerfulness. So this may be an intro blog for barcampdelhi 6 as most of the things are still undercover (or buzzing in the community) and not being public.

But i have started this post to keep my friends and social circle updated about the various updated on BarCamp Delhi (BCD6). Anyone else who is going to blog about it please remember to tag your post with BCD6 and link back ur post with http://barcampdelhi.com

So what is special about this barcamp :

1. We have a team which is full of enthusiasim.
2. We have a special logo designed by Naina
3. BCD  promised community to be more active in mailing list
4. BCD site is going under total revamp

I am excited and felicitous when i confirmed that i am going to attend a Barcamp this coming october. But to much of my surprise i found that the people around be exhibit no knowledge about these barcamps or unconferences. Though i walk/talk around the techie people all day but i was still amazed that why are not they aware of this ? But i could stop this feeling when i came to realize that i was the one who never attended/presented in any of the barcamp as if now. So I am writting a little about barcamp here, as i am in a rush and can explain much more of it in my own words later on. For now to understand what a barcamp is it and why is it organized and why people like me are crazy for it, you can wiki about Barcamps or you can read this excerpt copied from wiki :p

BarCamp is an international network of user generated conferences — open, participatory workshop-events, whose content is provided by participants — often focusing on early-stage web applications, and related open source technologies, social protocols, and open data formats.

The name “BarCamp” is a playful allusion to the event’s origins, with reference to the hacker slang term, foobar: BarCamp arose as a spin-off of Foo Camp, an annual invitation-only participant driven conference hosted by open source publishing luminary Tim O’Reilly.

I am excited about the barcamp as i am going to meet more people from our industry, people having same interests as of me and on top of all, i get to meet people. I have no friend circle or friends around here and what would be better than a barcamp. I always wanted to attend/present in one of the barcamp and its my dream to arrange one :p
