Matt, loved textpad to blog with. So matt met this guy called mike and they converted b2 to wordpress. Now there are about 23-24 wordcamps all over world now.

Matt thinks last year was really good for wordpress casue people around the world started to get involved more and more. Average user install around 4.96 plugin. couple of weeks ago wordpress crossed 4000+ plugins and 5000+ themes which are officially listed with wordpress. WordPress also added Built-in update and installers which was also a time saver for matt.

14 days back 2.7.1 v of wordpress released and  41,730 downloads per day which is actually 2.5 times than other versions update. Matt is kinda impressed with firefox update use case

alright we have “Hindi” in matt’s presentation, oh what some more bangla, telgu, marathi. So wordpress is healthy enough with regional languages of India.  11,651 blogs are in other regional languages up and working.

15-20 thousand people are testing wordpress 2.8 release.  Testing, coding 24 hours, re-iterations, re-designs makes up a new release.

• Themes ,  would available with one click install, just like plugins
• Custom taxonomies, idea from facebook
• Faster, minimize the http,caching trips.
• Moving widgets in the side bar, for the end user

Further matt says  that one can copy wordpress and make a clonepress but cannot copy the community associated that is we all. When matt started wordpress he was a kid studying political science no computer science at all.

How can you help as a community ?

Write a tutorial, write some plugins if you know PHP. Make themes if you are a designer. Help people, help community.

Thanks for reading this blog. Its been a long time that i posted something here but thanks to the search engines and loyal users which raise the stats everyday

This entry is going to be silly, pointless or funny but i am really frustrated over these mosquitoes who din let me sleep last night. So I am gonna share how i survived last night and finally managed to sleep after few hours of workaround.

I was pretty tired after i returned from work. Watched the live inauguration 2009 on CNN and then after the humble man, Barack Hussein Obama , took oath i was tired enought to sleep tight in my cozy bed. Just when i sacked into the bed, there was a buzz in my ear zzZZZzzzzzz and a hungry mosquito was roaming around me and was ready to unleash its unholy intentions.

Unfortunately my mosquito repellant was not working and i had to wave in the dark to that thing away. After half an hours battle and its regular escape from my unguided hits in the dark, i decided to switch on the light and kill it myself. Very quitely i switched on the light and found that mosquito and decided to kill it with the newspaper (more surface area ) but the little thing was too fast to be hit with anything and it just kept escaping everytime i hit it with the newspaper.

So i decided to sleep as i was tired battling with the little thing and i assumed the same from its side. Aaahhh 10 mins passed by and no buzz. Then suddenly zzzzzz right in front of my ear. I wonder how mosquitoes find your ear in this dark and how do they know that you will be irriated more with that sound than getting hurt when its bites. Some how i tried to ignore that sound and cover my ears with the blanket, but hell NO !! It wont stop pooping around my ears. And finally i gave myself over and asked it to bit me as much as it wants to. Lol it did not know that i had some destructive plans :p

So the theory works here, Mosquito bits and sucks 1-2 drops of blood but it becomes so heavy that it cant fly as fast as it could when it was empty inside. Well he bit me in the ear, my hands and near my eye. OK cool, It was not my turn to conjure. I switched on the light again and there it was near my pillow on the wall. The fat mosquito was trying to snooze or something and i hit it real hard this time. My hand got drops of blood, but doesn’t matter it was my blood

So it was a victory over the mosquito by me. I went into the bathroom to wash my hands and 2-3 mosquitoes again entered into the room .. HELL :O

So it continued and could sleep for just few hours last night.

After Maths: I woke up 4 times and killed 4 mosquitoes and finally was so tired that slept with 1 alive mosquito and was not bugged with that buzz sound

Moral : Always keep an extra Mosquito repellant :p

Just opened youtube this morning to watch Russell Peters‘s gags and discovered that youtube’s player got wider than its normal size. Apparently this change has been done as mostly the uploaded videos are near to 4:3 ratio. There are only few videos which has this advantage of wider screen, just like this counter strike video

This is a small change but is spreading like anything and i was overwhelmed by so many tweets which forced me to write this blog entry

Those who have been reading my blog regularly must be aware of the PETA story, that how i was amused when all of sudden PETA started following me on twitter. What we all desire from diwali, no matter in our home or work, is monetary gains. There are certain ways we can hitch this gains up, with acceleration like never before.

General facts about the festival Deepawali:

1) Clean your house and surrounding. Dump off any sort of old or unused items. They cause a big hindrance in the monetary gains.

2) Meet & Greet people with happiness. Give away gifts and receive them with happiness.

3) Diwali is the day when you can donate as much as you can. Goddess of money ( Lakshmi jee ) going to give everything back to you :p

4) Worship Lord Ganesha for knowledge and Luck and worship Goddess Lakshmi for Money and Prosperity.

5) The 8 directions of the home should be lit with lights; none of them should be in dark.

6) On the main entrance of your home, lit 6 diya in the shape of “chaumukhi”.

Proper Method for Lakshmi Poojan:

1) Place idols of Lakshmi Jee and Lord Ganesha over a red cloth.

2) The Idols should be new in every Deepawali; if it is of silver then you should clean them nicely before poojan.

3) Place some coins (preferably silver) over green or dark blue cloth.

4) The Temple should be setup in the NorthEast or North direction. You can always have a temporary temple in this direction for Deepawali poojan.

5) The deepak which is to be lit in front of Lakshmi jee should be of pure ghee. It is advised to let it glow through out the night.

6) Other things to be included in the pooja is: mauli(red thread), gulal(red color),sava ser chawal(rice).

7) Worship God & Goddess from the bottom of heart. A quick aarti which I can recall is

Om KamLakhsmaya namah !

Om SatyaLakhmaya namah !

Om BhogLakhsmaya namah !

Om YogaLakhsgmaya namah !

Feng Shui tips to throttle up monetary gains:

1) In South-West Direction of your dwelling, plant green color plants, if its not feasible then you can always have a “green color jungle painting”. 9 horses painting or idol (calm in nature) can be hung in the same direction.

2) If you have a sick family member or want that the elders should remain in good health, then in the east direction of your home, keep clean water with some salt in it.

3) Coming to your kitchen, place knives or any sharp edged things in the box or cupboard, DO NOT KEEP THEM IN OPEN. They have got negative energy for you.

4) You should keep Kuber, shree yantra, Maha Yantra in the north direction of your home and worship them with red flowers,GangaJal and Lakshmi Pooja.

5) If you want that this festival season should give you a car or scooter as a fruit, then keep the painting for the same.

Monetary Gains in your Business:

1) 4-5 days before Deepawali, pluck some pipal tree leaves and with the paste of Turmeric Powder(haldi) & Curd(dahi) write “shree” (of course the symbol). Place these in the temple at the time of Deepawali poojan. After the pooja, take one leaf and place it in your CashBox. Other leaves can be used to place in almirah etc etc.

2) One should worship the ledger(bahikata), books etc etc on the Deepawali night. Cheque books should be placed in some attractive binding or cover, preferably red and you can always put the swastika sign on it. Place red cloth at the entrance of the shop, signifies that you welcome Lakshmi jee to come and reside in your shop

This is all you can do to make your festival more prosperous and worthy. Rest it is all your faith in god and your luck.

But to disappointment myself i realized that the payment was actually collected by BillDesk and not by visa group. Now all of us know how bad is the services of BillDesk and to add i called up at their customer care asking for my payment details because i did not get any confirmation from Reader’s Digest. The bumpy customer care humiliated me by saying, i do not know how long does it take the online payments to process, i better should get my basics clear about transactions which i make online.. Bah, that was really stupid of them or me, because i think the online process is faster and yet simple.

So my next move was to contact RD guys so that they can help me out tracking the payment/issue. Guys you wont believe the numbers they have given on their website are all fake. Either no one is gonna pick up your phone and if he/she does pick the phone, they gonna put the blame on someone else and ask you to make just another call and there by  liquidating your money by making the STD calls.

However i din lose hope and sent them an email on sept 3,2008 with all the transaction details, with a hope that this is a good company alteast they might have hired some good geeks to respond my emails. But again to daze me off, they did not reply at all and i kept waiting. Exactly after two weeks on sept 17,2008 i called up the mumbai after following the chain of calls. In that chain of calls i could find from peon to clerk everyone on the line. But no one was there to guide me about the subscription details. So for then I somehow had a talk with some girl called jayshree and she promised me that they gonna work on it and replied my mail which reads exactly, this :

Dear Sir,

Thanks for your email.

Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for processing of the web order.

We assure the best possible service always.

Cool.. So india is media group India Today, which claims to be so superior will take 1.5 months to process an online order. But i never allowed myself to switch to panic mode and instead decided to wait. But today finally i lost my senses and I called up at customer care. This time i was able to talk to jayshree after 2-3 calls only

So she replies, “Sir we have forwarded your complaint and this will take some time to process” What the hell are you doing on this earth, for the sake of holy mother mary ?

Damn, they were sitting idle and doing nothin since 1.5 months and now they have come into action. And then she clarifies herself, “if you want we can send your money back”. Well customer never pays to get his money back, instead he needs the subscription to reach on time.

But these people wont understand becasue they don’t think customer’s service is important. For them the important task is using office’s resources for their own personal use.

I do not think people like this can lead india anywhere, they are just waste.

Note: I wont ever buy their products or magazine and will promote this to my friends and family. Its democracy even 1 person can effect the whole kingdom

LONDON: A woman was banned from boarding a budget jet – courtesy her too long name.

Ulrika Örtegren-Kärjenmäki failed to fit on Ryanair’s boarding pass and dots on the letters invalidated it in security checks at Stansted Airport, Essex.

Swede Ulrika, who was with her daughter, had to pay an extra 380 pounds for a flight next day.

The same problem occurred but an alternative pass was printed and she was given the permission to fly home.

“I did not receive any explanation,” the Sun quoted Ulrika, as saying.

Ryanair are considering compensation.

Well no more denying of my hometown cause it has given me so much and gave me strength and sharpness to stand above all Life at metro is a way different than one can imagine. Fast moving cars, malls, movies, pubs, clubs,discos etc etc. If you see a girl carrying a cigarette case with a beer can in hand, then its not a big deal, its just that she did not get time to finish the can in the pub :p

People here are too cool and are jolly. Love to party every night and love to enjoy each moment. Talking about the fashion and trends in here, then let me disclose that no local brand works in here, everyone is crazy about different new brands when it comes to dressing and other accessories. You have to maintain sophistication along with the royal look :p

I felt really awkward to see plastic smiles and plastic people around, but now i m used to them or should i say i am part of them they don’t scare me any more. But somewhere deep down, i miss my family and the people there, who used to meet each other with no grudges and with deep love inside their hearts. I can’t smell the pure “desi ghee’s”  fragrance and can’t drink the water from the tap. You have to carry mineral water everywhere you go, cause this city(noida) is so much sarcastic that it wont even give you pure/drinkable water in the taps.

Above all, the life at metro is costly but is still attractive. Its like you don’t want to leave it but you still miss your home
