It was sent from a SMS gateway and that is why i see the Message Sender as “Urgent”. First i thought of ignoring this SMS, but later on i realized i should report this spam sms to help my government, especially after the mumbai attacks. But then i couldn’t build the courage to do so, as in india everyone is aware of the law & order system. I do not know about the senders of this SMS, but i will be in trouble for no reason but just to help India.

I discussed it with my friends at office and one of the paranoid guy told me that if you call on that number they gonna clone your IMEI and then give a terror/hoax calls and you the one who will be put in question.

Later on discussed it with TwilightFairy and she gave me a sorta relevant answer, that if i call on this number then i can be charged on different pulse rate and the benefit goes to the senders of that sms. That might be the revenue model for their business

But they put a realistic amount of $5,000 and sometimes compel people to believe that the SMS is legit. But trust me guys this is all hoax. Just a question, you did not do anything anywhere and how suddenly you gonna get $5,000 outta blue ?

So be Scam Smart, dont let yourself go down with these sorta hoax sms,emails or calls. Be vigilant !!

They send these junk chunks from timesjobs.com. I tried calling at the customer care before creating this blog entry and i got some crap shit from them, claiming that they got above 30,000 listing outta which they cannot help me that who all are spamming. Bah, its about quality and never about quantity.

I bet outta 30,000 companies listed 70% are fake and are registered just to access legit email addresses and selling identities of professionals.

They claim that they cannot block that company whatever is sending me emails. Rather they would be pleased to delete my account. Another bam bam Marketing strategy , and finally they lost another registered user (thatz me ).

But i don’t know when this jobportal timesjob who never sent me any relevant lead is going to delete my account and help me to make my inbox a much clean place where i can see the expected mails.

To tell you the fact there customer care sucks. They even don’t know how do they talk to customers.

Let me know if you got any inputs on this.

This post is kind of general awareness post. Many of times you would have seen (been a site administrator) that you get lots of junk mails popping into your mailbox about optimizing your site in the search engines. They Claim this as SEO, Search Engine Optimization. They got so and so company’s link and they are so and so experienced, they are going to make your site appear in the first 10 google results and lots of other perks.

Well this all is fake. Google the major search engine claims not to have any kind of agreement with these kind search engine optimizing companies. As long as google doesn’t have one, then how can they simply make your site pop into first 10 results. What they are going to do is put some valid and META TAGS. Trust me guys its simple to do, put in some relevant META TAGS and submit your link to google search engine your self here

Your site’s position can reach to number if the content is good and users click it

So dont get trapped into any of such companies which just gulp the money and give nothing as output. Don’t trust this post, check out yourself what google has to say about these SEO companies.

Have you ever wanted to store your secret files more safely, so that no one but you know what is there and how it can be retrieved ? Well it is very simple yet powerful methodology to do that.. You just need is WINRAR installed in your computer and a little command prompt knowledge, or you can just use the command as given below…

Steps to create the encrypted image:

1) keep your file which you want to hide into a folder (call it as hidden)

2) Use Winrar to rar the file and call the file as hide.rar

3) Also place any decent image(say img.jpg) into the same folder where you have kept hide.rar

4) Now goto command prompt and type the command

copy /b hide.rar + img.jpg secret.jpg

Tada, you are done with it, the folder hidden has now got a new file which contains your secret txt file. Now to retrieve that file again what you need to do is to open this secret.jpg into winrar and you can extract that off..

Well ofcouse, this email is a fraud. But who does not like the money. Just like i got a phone call yesterday from one of my client. He is as old as 35 years, a well grown up man and he calls me in the middle of night and asking for 10 minutes from my sleeping time, cause he has some serious discussion to be made. Bah, it was about the lottery ticket he won just by sitting at his departmental store. When i confirmed the forgery of the email, he offended saying i do not want to help him cause he disturbed me from the sleep and he is going to take all the money himself.. bump there he bangs the phone.. Last time he met was having a sad face, i really do not wanted him to narrate the whole story that might had happened with him.

So guys beware of these kinda emails, they are not at all offering you anythin. So why do they do this all ::

1) To steal your identity and sell it over the internet.

2) To gulp a handful of money from you.

Results:

You get into a serious trouble, you can be even involved in any kind of legal issues due to strict laws of our respective countries and the cyber crime laws. Please trust me guys, these lottery mails are more often sent to SPAM email automatically but if one or the other comes into your mailbox, just simply ignore it.

Critics: Charity and that too through you ?Ummmm.. Sounds interesting .. But where from the prince came ? No random email selection nothing works like this, just don’t get yourself into this trap even.

Some woman wants to divorce her husband and marry you and wants to make children with you

Critics: Hmmmm.. Now that is something which can make any guy think 100 times before pressing the delete button in his INBOX. But trust me, its again a SPAM. Many cases are reported everyday of the same kind.

You Met someone on matrimonial site and he/she wants you to offer him some dowry, gift etc before marriage

Critics: Just DO NOT fall into this trap. India reported 900 cases last year for the same, I don’t think you want to get counted in those stats :p

you took a cool breath when you searched this on google, right ? well yeah.. lotsa of my friends have been poking me lately cause they think i infected their Laptops/PC when they were not around .. hahahah.. that adds devil smile on my face, cause i did not do it but they are so sure that i did it .. Cant make them understand, so the only way to make them realize is that i took the infected pen drive of my friend to my place and started discovering what happened basically..

So googled about the symptoms i found that this is a worm known as

w32.USB Worm

As the name specifies it spreads from USB drives to and fro

now how do you tackle it.. A quick way for orkut addicted those who want a quick access to orkut is as follows..

1) Press alt+ctrl+del and goto processes tab

2) There you will see a list of processes under the different username, arrange the processes according to your username and search for the process svchost.exe

3) Right click and end process or end process tree.. Make sure you end the imagename or process which are under your username and not that which are under LOCAL SERVICE OR NETWORK SERVICE.

4)This gives you instant access to orkut..

A Similar of this variant gives you error on opening firefox.

“I DNT HATE MOZILLA BUT USE IE OR ELSE…”, “USE INTERNET EXPLORER U DOPE”,

The above 4 Steps solution works for the same..

Now a fix to permanently get rid of this nuisance, this pulls the interest of my friends who called me up and took help to access their orkut accounts instantly..

Follow as :-

REPEAT THE ABOVE 4 STEPS AND THEN CONTINUE.

5) Click start->run type c:\heap41a and press Enter. You cannot find this folder by looking through windows explores i.e. My Computer, as this is a hidden folder.

6) Delete all the files under this folder by pressing ctrl+a followed by shift+del key

7) Now again goto Start->Run and write regedit, this opens registry editor for you.

Press ctrl+f , a find dialog box opens, type heap41a and let it show you some results

9) You should see “[winlogon] C:\heap41a\svchost.exe C:\heap(some number)\std.txt”

10) Now delete whatever you see there cause you love orkut .. hahahah

Well your PC/LP is cleaned up and now you can open your orkut account without that nuisance.

Make sure you delete all the .exe files which are present at the root of ur pendrive which got created automatically(which you never created) . Rather scan your pen drive with a good antivirus.. That should allow you stealth your PC from the attack of MUHAHA

SIDE EFFECTs

Well this worm/virus removes hidden folder options or you are unable to see hidden folders. so enable the hidden folder option follow the steps as :-

1. Goto Start->run type regedit again to open registry editor

2.traverse as HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer3.

4)There you will see a DWORD key as “NoFolderOptions” . Set its value to 0 or simply delete it

vola !! there you go charmy.. you are a geek now

The billy team call it as “UAC:User Account Control “.Well it does irritates cause for whatever you do it jus keeps coming and you have click allow, continue etc etc.. well it irritated me a lot and i got rid of it, i will tell you how can you do the same.

Microsoft believes it has secured its OS by introducing this kinda desktop switching from GUI to a simple black window to ask for permission and warning naive users that whatever they do can effect their system. hahahah too ghey

Anyways this may or may not halt effect ur security a little, as few articles are there, but what i believe is that it is annoying and it should be fired away. So if you agree the me, follow the steps ..

If you got Vista Ultimate then follow the steps :-

1) Go to start and type local security and windows will search the first result as Local Security Policy.

2) Click that and parse to Security settings->local policies->Security options.

3) There you will see there is an option in the 4th or 3rd last saying “User Account Control: Switch to the secure desktop when prompting for elevation”. just disable that option.

4) Now if you want that windows should not even ask for ur authorization to run a process, then do the following changes in the key shown below :

And yeah now you got rid of that annoying screen.

Now for the users who spend less and have Vista Home Variant

just parse through registry to search the following keys and make the necessary changes as follows

Here is the tree you need to parse

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]

Under this you will see a key “PromptOnSecureDesktop” double click to open it and set it value to 0 and you are done leaving off the shore that annoying black so called security box

hahahahah
